What base assembly includes
- BIOS update with the official file for your exact motherboard
- CPU, memory, SSD and cooler installed, then a test boot outside the case before final assembly
- Everything mounted in the case, with cable management and fan connections
- Memory profile (EXPO or XMP) turned on so your RAM runs at its rated speed instead of the slower default
- A check in the BIOS that the CPU, all memory, the SSD and the graphics card are detected
- One full memory stability test pass (MemTest86)
- A 30-day labor guarantee: if a connection comes loose or something I installed is wrong, I fix it free
Why the parts list check exists
On a recent Ryzen 9 9950X3D and RTX 5080 build, the air cooler the customer bought was so large it covered the motherboard's only usable graphics card slot. Nothing on the spec sheets flags that. The customer picked up a liquid cooler, I swapped it in that afternoon, and the build still went home on time. A check before you buy catches problems like that while the parts can still be returned.
How it works
- Call or email me your parts list. I'll confirm the price and a ready date.
- Drop off your parts. We photograph each one together, and you sign a short agreement listing the work and the price.
- I build and test it. If a part is dead on arrival, I'll tell you which one that day and how I tested it.
- You pick up the finished PC and pay then.
Who you're working with
I'm Jack Redmond. I build these myself in Wilmington, and Modus PC Builds is part of Modus Labs, Inc., a North Carolina company. Your parts stay your property the whole time, and if I damage one, I pay to repair or replace it.
